Upcoming Distinguished Speakers for New 2025-2026 Season

The Research Center for Child Well-Being is excited to start hosting our newest Distinguished Speaker Series line-up for the 2025-2026 academic year! From September to April, we have national scholars visit us once a month and present about prevention science, child well-being, health disparities and other societal challenges, and methodological issues relevant to the Center and its research goals.

On Friday, September 5th, we will be joined by Dr. Brian Bumbarger, the Associate Director of Implementation Science & Strategy at A Division for Advancing Prevention & Treatment (ADAPT), associated with the Washington/Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA). Dr. Bumbarger is presenting on “Early Relational Health and Child/Adolescent Well-Being: A Developmental, Lifecourse Perspective on the Power of Relationships.” You can read more about Dr. Bumbarger, his work, and his experience in his bio.

We will also have Christina Weiland presenting at the Center on Friday, October 3rd. Christina, based at the University of Michigan, is a Professor at the Marshal Family School of Education and the Karl and Martha Kohn Professor of Social Policy at the Ford School of Public Policy. She will be presenting on “Using Evidence in the Early Years to Build a Strong Foundation for School Success.” You can read more about Christina, her work, and her experience in her bio.

Make sure to RSVP on the Distinguished Speaker Series page of our website if you’re interested in joining for any of our Distinguished Speaker Series events this year!

We are excited to be hosting Dr. Bumbarger, Christina, and our other Distinguished Speakers for the 2025-2026 season! For the most up-to-date information, visit the Distinguished Speaker Series page of our website. We will share more details as we confirm them with our other upcoming speakers.
