Center Scientists Receive Funding

Dr. Bridget Armstrong, an associate professor of exercise science and center scientist, received funding in the form of a transformative seed grant from Prisma for her proposal Leveraging Existing Community Programs as a Treatment Modality for Hypertension Risk Among Youth, totaling $18,632.

Dr. Angela Liese is a senior scientist and mentor with the RCCWB. She has also received funding via her years six to ten renewal R01 for $3.4 million from the National Institute of Diabetes & Digestive & Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). This funding is in support of her work investigating the Impact of Disparities in Food Security on Glycemic Control and Health Care Utilization Among Youth and Young Adults.
