Dr. Angela Liese, a senior scientist with the RCCWB and an epidemiology professor at USC, was recently awarded the 2023 Carolina Trustees Professorship award. The award is given to faculty at USC who have a record for outstanding teaching performance at any level, as well as outstanding performance concerning research and service. Because of Dr. Liese’s excellence in all three, she has been described as a “triple threat.”
For Dr. Liese, however, it is simply a matter of mentoring, no matter the situation.
She is currently co-leading on an NIH grant to bring faculty early in their careers to the university. The effort will include mentorship to help these faculty develop professionally as they research health disparities.
Congratulations, Dr. Liese!
